2020 Spring Baseball Update
Posted May 27, 2020

Angleton Little League is excited to get players, coaches, and fans back out to the ballpark.  WIth having to accomodate Covid-19 precautions, we have teamed up with the city of angleton parks department to compile a safety plan that will best protect everyone involved with the program. Baseball will look slightly different, so we are asking you to sit back, relax, and enjoy watching your kids play with their friends on the field.  For anyone curious on the details of the safety plan please see the link below to our document.

Here are a few highlights of the new plan for summer 2020:

- Sanitation stations setup throughout the park

- Restrooms to be open for game days only

- All players required to wear batting gloves while batting only

- Bleachers and dugouts to be used by teams only.

- Fans will sit in their own chairs along the fence lines (Concrete center area is off limits for viewing)

- T-ball and MP1 will allow for immediate family members to sit in the outfield area on each field

- We ask that teams not show up until 30 minutes prior to each game and leave immediately following the game in order to keep the number of people in the park to a minimum.

Based upon yesterday’s (5/18) update from Governor Abbott, Angleton Little League can begin practicing on June 1st with one parent or guardian per player if needed. Coaches are strongly encouraged to maintain small groups during practice. Games can begin on June 15th. Spectators should maintain at least 6 feet social distancing.

Prior to games starting, Angleton Little League will have an approved COVID safety plan in place with the city. This plan will include but is not limited to social distancing for spectators and teams, cleaning protocols, etc. These protocols will be based on the announcements made today by Governor Abbot, which is linked below:

Governor's Release

After reviewing the leagues finances, the Board has decided to offer 3 options that each parent should consider when choosing whether or not their child/children will participate in the 2020 Spring season.

- Option 1: Play Spring 2020 baseball in June and July and receive a 25% voucher* for Fall 2020 or Spring 2021.

- Option 2: Wait until Fall 2020 or Spring 2021 to play baseball and receive a 50% voucher*

- Option 3: Waive the voucher and donate the unused portion to Angleton Little League.

*Note, the voucher will include a percentage of what was paid for the Spring 2020 season*
50% Example: Parent paid $150 for registration. The voucher will be issued for $75.00
25% Example: Parent paid $150 for registration. The voucher will be issued for $37.50

The deadline to submit your voucher is June 1, 2020 at midnight.

How do I request my refund voucher?

Click on the following link to claim your VOUCHER. It will also be linked on Facebook and our website. Complete a form for each child that was registered. The form allows you to select which option you would like. Any player that doesn’t submit a form by the deadline will donate the unused portion of their registration fees to the Angleton Little League.

Why do I only get a partial refund?

With state and local closures for COVID occurring a week before the games started, a portion of the registration fee has already been spent on league operating costs. Catcher gear, gloves and batting tees were provided to coaches. Field maintenance costs to get fields in playable condition. Team jerseys and hats were ordered and printed.

Chastang CDJR's Bull Pens
We are proud to announce our new sponsor Chastang CDJR! The league has needed full renovations to tour bullpens for some time, and it was the perfect opportunity for Chastang CDJR to provide a bit of assistance. We are very excited to have the opportunity to provide our players with a safe and stable safe and stable place to warm up or just get in some extra practice on the off days.
Thank you Chastang CDJR for your support of Angleton Little League!
